Fairfield Area Elementary School

Title I is a federally funded program for students needing extra support in reading. Fairfield Area School District uses multiple criteria to identify students that will benefit from extra instruction by a Title 1 reading specialist, intervention specialist or Title 1 paraprofessional. 

Our highly qualified reading/ intervention specialists use multiple assessments as well as teacher input to identify students recommended for the program. Parents/ guardians will be contacted if your child qualifies for Title 1 services. Tiered Intervention Selection Process

Students get direct instruction from reading/ intervention specialists in small group.  During this small group time, students will be working on phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, developing vocabulary, building comprehension skills, written responses to text and much more!
