Fairfield Area Elementary School

Hello and welcome! My name is Courtney Borne and I am so honored to be the principal of Fairfield Elementary School.  This is my 20th year in education.  I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Grove City College here in Pennsylvania.  I began my career as a teacher and have taught a variety of elementary grade levels.  While teaching, I earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Hood College.  I then became an assistant principal and spent 11 years as a school administrator.  I am beyond excited to continue serving as an administrator now as principal of such an amazing school.  My husband and I live in the community with our 5 children. As an educator, a mom, and a community member, I am passionate about making our school the very best that it can be for our students.  

The mission statement for Fairfield Area Schools is “Student’s First” which gets to the heart of my philosophy of education.  We are here to support students each and everyday as they grow to reach their fullest potential.  In order to do that, we must keep “students first” at the center of each decision we make.  

At Fairfield Elementary, we provide an engaging learning environment where students can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. We want all students to feel valued and capable of doing great things! Our dedicated team of educators is committed to fostering a love for learning, encouraging personal growth, and empowering students to be career and college ready. 

Our school truly is more than just a building; it is a supportive community where students are encouraged to explore their interests and embrace and grow through challenges as they work to discover their true potential. Our district offers a comprehensive curriculum that combines academic rigor with a focus on character development, critical thinking, and creativity. We want to equip our students with the skills and knowledge they need to become lifelong learners.  Our students will be educated to make a difference in this world.

As principal, I value a strong partnership between home and school.  Strong communication and collaboration is essential to help our students become their best.  Parents and guardians play an essential role in the education of their children, and as a school, we are here to support and work alongside you every step of the way. I welcome and encourage communication and look forward to partnering with you in support of our students.  Again, I am honored to be the principal of Fairfield Elementary School.  I look forward to a school year full of growth and success for all.
